Ta-DAAAA

A friend of mine just emailed me and told me that Old Navy sale I was so very very sad about missing is still going online, if you know the promo code. So, for all of you who are interested, the promo code you type in at checkout is halfoff. It's only on their clearance items, and I am not sure about shipping costs, but I just thought I'd let you know. Happy weekend!

Worst News Ever..okay, so I guess it could be worse

Every year Old Navy has this huge crazy sale sometime in the beginning of the year, where they take an additional 50% off of their already clearanced prices. So, last year, I was able to completely stock Morgan's wardrobe for the whole next year for just under $50. At this sale my motto is, if its more than 3 bucks, don't buy it. Because there is just so many cute dresses, pants, shirts and sweaters for 3 dollars or less! BUT, the bad news is I MISSED IT THIS YEAR!!!! JD and I went to check to see if the sale was going (because they don't advertise it, its kind of hush hush) Anyhow, we went on a Tuesday, and it wasn't happening yet, but everything was marked down to 50% off the original price, so I knew it was happening soon. Well, I was right, cause it happened that Thursday!!!! It went from Thursday to Monday and I missed the whole thing! I am still pretty bummed, because when else do you get the chance to dress your kid that cute for only 3 dollars? I do realize though, that JD and I are low on cash right now, so its probably best I missed it. But still, Dang it Dang it Dang it!

Missing my Man

So, you'll have to forgive me, its a little later than I usually blog, so things are likely to get a little iffy here. You have been sufficiently warned...
JD is on a campout. A very snowy, cold campout. Yet somehow, I KNOW I will be the one who gets the worse nights sleep tonight! It always goes this way, I stay up till the wee hours of the morning just so I will be too exausted to hear every bump in the night while I am laying in bed. And chances are, even if I go to bed at 4 in the morning, I will still lay there for a half hour debating on whether that is the house settling, or someone coming through the back gate. Great, now I know what I'll be thinking about tonight, since the image is in my head already!
Needless to say, there are a few things I don't like about the campouts. I don't like spending the night alone, I don't like putting Morgan to bed on my own, and I don't like getting up all alone in the morning. BUT, I do like how those things I hate so very much show me how much I should cherish my marriage.
Could I make it through a whole lifetime without JD, when I can't hardly make it through one night? I think its safe to say its not likely. I love having him here with me, being a husband to me and an amazing father to Morgan. He takes care of us, and does what he thinks is best for all of us. He makes me feel safe. And I realize now, that while it seems I can't trust him to rinse his dishes, I trust him with everything important in my life without question. I go to bed at night knowing I will be alright in the morning, and taken care of through the night. Our family is led by a good and righteous man, that has my loyalty, even if it means I have to put up with a camp out now and then!

Fun at a Museum, are you serious??? Yes, Indeed I am.

While we were in Salt Lake, Morgan's Grandma took her to the Treehouse Childrens Museum in Ogden, and Sam, JD and I got to tag along for the adventure. It was so much fun! That place is crazy! It is this big 2 story building with a gigantic tree in the middle (its fake but still oh so cool) The tree has stairs all through the trunk, and a tunnel slide that winds through the trunk and back down to the bottom floor. As if that doesn't make the place a children's haven all on its own, it is PACKED FULL of cool stuff for kids (and adults, I'll admit I was seriously intrigued, okay ENTHRALLED with a lot of the stuff)

So we started our journey through the treehouse with a stop at the Christmas Village, it was donated to the museum and it is the most extensive collection of those tiny Christmas houses I have ever seen! The ferris wheel behind Morgan is part of the amusement park in the Christmas Village, I know, not the Christmassiest picture of a Christmas Village, but still pretty impressive.

After our visit to the Village, we moved onto the music room. AND I HAVE TO SAY THIS ROCKED! There are drums (real live cool drums not toys) and xylophones and did I mention how cool the drums were? You should have seen Annette going to town on some of those big boys (just to get the kids excited of course)

We then passed by a room dedicated to the Presidents of the US, all decked out like the oval office, and stopped to do some arts and crafts because art is still Morgan's true love. Then we hopped over to this giant map of the United States and played a quick game of "Find what mom says and stomp on it" Here she is finding the fish and pointing it out with pride!

Further down the hall there is this room with Porcelain dolls on every inch of the wall, and a doll house in the middle. Morgan loved that, and put all those dolls "Night Night" in a hurry.

THEN we got to the most AWESOME, COOLEST, UNDENIABLY MY FAVORITE room ever! Morgan was not real impressed, but the midevil corner was my fave, if you cannot tell from my enthusiasm. They had dress up, with a stage for the kids, and two puppet stages and more dress up and a whole area just for chess! So yes, I'll admit, I am a sucker for the old days and yes, I wish I lived then if only they had toothbrushes and regular showers. And probably toilets. Okay, so I am glad I live now, but still, SO COOL.

We finished up downstairs with these little houses all done up from the countries around the world, this tunnel through the German house was Morgan's favorite. A secret passageway perhaps?

But, you can always count on a kid to absolutely fall in love with something an adult would easily overlook anytime. I think she crossed this bridge, ran back to the beginning, and crossed it again about thirty times!

This was my favorite day in Salt Lake, hands down. Okay wait, Christmas was pretty good too. Umm, a tie maybe? Anyhow, thanks for taking us Annette, we won't be forgetting that good of a time anytime soon!

Childhood Memories!

The other day I was cooking up some dinner, and I realized we didn't have any broccoli and, well, I needed broccoli! So I sent JD to Safeway(and the great husband he is, he went without complaining!) Anyhow, my knight in shining armor came home with broccoli, and candy galore!!! Apparently there was a sale, and JD said he couldn't pass up the chance to share a childhood memory with Morgan, and he whipped out the fun dip! Its been so long since I have had that stuff, and I have to say Morgan is a bit like her Mom, cause she liked the lick a stik candy better than the dip. And I ALWAYS got myself into trouble with that candy cause I would give in and eat the stick before the sugary dip was gone!
She's not quite sure how to do this:

So Dad gave her some pointers:
Touchdown!!!

Ooooh, and oh so good:

Mmmm-mmmm good!

Catch Up, not Ketchup

Its been a little while since I've blogged, with a lot that went on during the time I missed! So here is a quick little catch you up:

Christmas was great, we got to go spend about a week and a half with JD's family up in Salt Lake, so we definately got a white Christmas!!! I am just a snow hater, so I wish it could have just been a white Christmas with sun every other day, but what can you do? I realized I had hit an all time low when I went outside and thought it was nice enough that I didn't need a coat, then started the truck and the thermometer read 37 degrees!!!!

The snow did have its perks though, and we went sledding twice with Morgan and her cousins. She is about as big a fan of the snow as I am though, so she was happy as long as she was being held or on the sled. But put her feet in the stuff, and you had one unhappy kid!

On Christmas Eve, Annette (JD's Mom) did a quick Christmas devotional with the grandkids. It was so cute, and short enough to keep their attention. She made these cool gloves with the main people from the Christmas story on each finger, it just went really well!

Our Christmas morning was so awesome, Morgan is old enough now to really get excited and animated about things, so her face was probably the best gift I got this year. Well, that and JD's enthusiasm even about the gifts I was afraid he wouldn't get excited for. I am sort of afraid I dropped the ball on my gift though, JD got me what I wanted the very most, but I don't think I acted excited enough for it (a carpet cleaner) just because I already know what it was, and was more interested in watching everybody else. BUT now that we are home, I cannot wait to get our live tree out of the house so I can go to town steam cleaning!!!!

All in all, I think the trip went really well! We had a few "mine" mishaps with three toddlers running around but I really think they all (especially Hunter, his toys were all the buzz) did EXTREMELY well sharing!!
It was just a great great time, and I will blog about some of the other activities we did while we were up there later, this is long enough and I can hear the laundry calling to me...well nagging actually!

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, and good luck with all your resolutions!
